Abbreviated
Names:
BINAP(O); rac-BINAP(O); BINPO;
BINAP monoxide
Air- and
moisture-stable white crystalline
solid.
Uses: Ligand for
asymmetric catalysis with chiral
poisoning and building block for
synthesis.
The chiral poisoning strategy has been employed for Diels-Alder
reactions, catalyzed by a Ru Lewis
acid derived from racemic BINAP(O).
Excellent diastereoselectivity
and ee
of up to 60% were obtained with L-proline
and L-prolinamide as chiral poisons: Organometallics
